Zoe and her Chicken
My mom got Zoe this little toy chicken for Christmas. It is her favorite toy and she loves to squeak it. Sometimes, when we need a good laugh we do this, and she goes nuts....
New Year
Yeah, I know I'm a little late posting this, but we've been busy! My parents took us on a cruise the first week of January as our Christmas present. We had a great time and had beautiful weather!
Aaron started classes last Monday. He is settling into his classes and I think he's really going to enjoy this semester because he's taking a lot of classes related to his major. I started student teaching last Tuesday and am really liking it a lot more than I thought I would. And I actually get home at a reasonable hour so I get to see Aaron waaay more than last semester, which is nice!
We've had a wonderful start to 2010 and we're excited to see what the rest of the year holds for us. I graduate in May (FINALLY!!!!) and have already started looking for a job. Hopefully I'll find something I love! We hope to buy a house early this year (so we can take advantage of the tax credit!!) and Aaron graduates in December. Plus, we have a few weddings sprinkled throughout the year that we're looking forward to.
We hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2010!! :-)

Merry Christmas!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Aaron and I spent Christmas Eve at my aunt's house eating dinner and playing with my cousins little kids. We also had a visit from SANTA! We went to midnight mass Christmas eve and then woke up Christmas morning to open gifts. We didn't get much this year since the cruise was our Christmas gift, but it was still nice. We then went down to my Grandma's house where we ate tons of food and visited with a few of my aunt's and their families. Then we headed to my Dad's parents where we ate a little more and then went into a food coma :-)
We've pretty much just been relaxing since Christmas, but we're getting ready to head back to Oxford tomorrow because we both have to work on Tuesday. We also have to pack and get things ready for the cruise. Then we may head down to Kentucky a day early to visit with Aaron's brothers before we have to leave for Miami on the 1st.
We hope everyone has a great New Years and I probably won't post again until we get back from the cruise, so I'll see you in 2010!! :-)

One step closer..
To become licensed as a speech language pathologist you have to pass the PRAXIS. This is a standardized test that covers every area a SLP may possibly get into, so needless to say, studying for it is hard. I took the test on the 14th and we weren't supposed to get our scores back until next week, but they posted them early and I PASSED! I kicked the tests butt! I am so extremely proud of myself and now the only thing that's standing between me and becoming an SLP is student teaching this spring. I am so relieved and proud that all of my hard work is finally starting to pay off.

The end is in sight...
We have had a crazy past few weeks. Last week Aaron had a ton of group projects that were done and I had a lot of assignments also. We hardly saw each other at all Tuesday and we didn't see each other at all Wednesday (except when he was getting home from a group meeting at 3:30 in the morning and I woke up). Plus, on top of all of that we're trying to potty train a puppy! But the end is in sight!!! This is the last week of classes for both of us and in two of my classes we're taking our finals, so after Thursday I will be completely done! Aaron still has finals next week, but they shouldn't be too bad. Then we'll have a whole month off to relax and recuperate. In the spring I don't have any classes, but I'm student teaching full-time, but at least I'll have a normal schedule so I'll be home at a decent hour at night and don't have to get up at the crack of dawn.
This weekend Aaron worked Friday and Sunday so I spent those days getting work done and Saturday we put our Christmas tree up! :-) I can't believe it's almost Christmas, this year has gone SO fast! Aaand, last night we had our first snowfall. It's just a little dusting, but enough to make everything white! I'm finally starting to get into the Christmas spirit!
Here's a little family photo we took last night...

Our family is growing!!!
But not that way....
Aaron bought me a puppy for my birthday! He went Sunday to pick her up and lied to me about it but I'm super sneaky and found out about it (although I'm NOT proud of how I found out) so he gave her too me Sunday night! She's an 8 week (today!) old, boxer puppy named Zoe and she is the cutest freaking thing I have ever seen. She is sooo sweet. She loves to play and cuddle! Aaron and I are quickly figuring out how much we don't know about puppy training. She hates her kennel and has no idea how to walk on a leash. She's pretty good about letting us know when she has to go outside to go to the bathroom though and she only wakes us up once in the night to go. Man, I feel like I'm talking about my child, although she pretty much is...
Anyway, here are a few pictures...

Thanksgiving
I don't know what it is, but it does NOT seem like Thanksgiving is next week. Maybe it's because the weather is still pretty warm, or maybe it's because I've been so busy with school and work. I don't know what it is, but it seems like just yesterday it was May and Aaron and I were getting married. Now we've been married 6 1/2 months! I can't believe that much time has gone by.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it includes all of my favorite thing:
family.
food.
naps. (don't tell Aaron I said that, I normally hate naps but on Thanksgiving they're allowed)
football.
and this year there's a very special added bonus, my birthday!
We have some family come in to town so it will be fun to visit with them, relax and we'll get a much needed break from school.
So, in case I don't get a chance to post before Thanksgiving, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with food, family and fun! :-)
