Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving for many reasons. There's lots of amazing food, naps are pretty much a necessity, and there's football on all day! But the thing I love most of all is family! This year Aaron and I spent the first part of the day with my semi-new family (haha they've been like family for 4 years, but that's new compared to my families I've had for 22 years). Three of Aaron's brothers (Joe, Noah and Isaac) were in town along with their wives, kids, dogs, etc. Along with Aaron's Uncle Tim. I love Aaron's family! Coming from a family where it's just my sister and I, the loudness and craziness that comes with Aaron's family is fun! I'm so glad I have such a wonderful family that I'm marrying into and I'm looking forward to many more years of fun Thanksgivings!

Super cute baby Eden!:-)

After leaving Aaron's parent's we headed back to my parent's house for another Thanksgiving dinner with my family. We ended the night with a wonderful nap on the couch only to wake up and go to bed!

Packing

I've come to the conclusion that I hate packing. Actually, I've always hated it, and I've always put it off until the last minute, but I've finally figured out why I dislike it so much... I can't decide what I want to wear on any given day, let alone for the whole week. Usually when I'm packing to go to my parents or on vacation I'm not sure what my plans are, so I don't know what kind of clothes I'm going to need. I never know if I'm going to need hoodies to lounge around in or if I'm going to need to look nice. Usually I end up overpacking, I pack a lot of cute outfits that I intend to wear, but also plenty of comfy clothes because I know I'll be too lazy to make myself look nice, plus, I like to have options. (Typically I end up packing about 2 outfits per day because I don't know what I need and heaven forbid I wear the same outfit twice) Then, when I return home and am unpacking I discover all the cute clothes I packed and I'm sad that I didn't wear them. Aaron also hates that I overpack because it usually means that he gets stuck lugging around my overstuffed bag, 1/2 full with clothes I never got around to wearing. So, as I sit here and debate what clothes I'll be wearing for the 4ish days I'll be home for Thanksgiving, I've already mentally packed 4 hoodies, 3 sweaters and a few pairs of jeans :-)

Engagement Pictures

Aaron and I got our engagement pictures taken today! We were supposed to do it yesterday, but it rained all day so we rescheduled for today. It was freezing (it was in the 30s) and it was very windy. It was even snowing a little bit this morning. We went a few different places here on campus and it was a lot of fun. Aaron even enjoyed it. (Only because he got to kiss me a lot..haha) I'm really excited to see how the pictures will turn out! And I'm especially excited that we'll have some decent pictures of us. For the past few years most of the pictures we've taken either I have my eyes closed or Aaron is doing a goofy smile so it'll be nice to have a new picture to put up! Our photographer (Amanda) said she should have a "sneak peak" up fairly soon and should have all of them to us in 2 or 3 weeks. Can't wait!:)

Also, one of the girls in my program is 23 today (Happy Birthday Amy!) so a few of us went out to dinner at an Indian restaurant to celebrate. This was Aaron and my first time eating Indian food and I'd like to say it was not a good experience. The food was good! Although mine was a little too spicy and I even asked for a level 1 spice (aka the lowest there is). But as soon as we got home, Aaron and I both started feeling bad. I'm having really bad heartburn pains and Aaron's stomach is giving him problems. So I'm glad we tried something new, but I dont' think we'll be going back there anytime soon....

Updates...

Today is my dad's 51st birthday!! What an old man:) Aaron and I went home last night so we could go out to dinner to celebrate. Aaron talked him into getting "Man Food" so we were going to go to the new Texas Roadhouse in Huber but there was a 2 hour wait so we went to LoneStar instead (and walked right in!) It was a fun night and good to see the family.

Today Aaron and I went to a Pre-Cana class that the Catholic church requires all engaged couples to attend before getting married. It was a long day, but we learned some interesting stuff. We discovered that our personalities are completely different in most areas, which will probably be both a blessing and an area of conflict in our relationship. Like I'm more of a "feeler" and Aaron is more of a "thinker." The example they gave to compare these two traits is that the "feeler" sees a puppy and wants it but the "thinker" is able to logically see why this would not be a good idea. It was funny because that is the exact "argument" Aaron and I have had numerous times. I want a puppy sooo bad. I tell him it will fulfill my "baby crave" (which I don't have yet) but logical Aaron realizes that we don't have the time for a puppy right now, much less the money to pay for all of the food and vet visits it will require. And our apartment won't even allow the dog we want, but never the less, I still want a puppy (boxer puppy to be exact!). It was interesting:)
School's going okay for both of us. I'm really enjoying my clients! Classes are definitely harder than in undergrad, but I feel like I'm learning a lot. Aaron's doing well in his classes, but they don't really have to do with his major so he's not super into them.
I went to a baby shower for my cousin and his wife last weekend. While I was there my aunt and I started talking about my wedding shower. It's crazy how fast the wedding is sneaking up on us. 6 months from tomorrow!:) We're actually getting engagement pictures taken next weekend so I'm excited for that!
That's about all that's going on.. My birthday is on the 26th and Thanksgiving is the very next day. These happen to be 2 of my favorite holidays so I'm getting looking forward to those!
