Pictures

So I've decided that I need to start taking pictures more often. I have no excuse. 99% of the time I have my camera with me, in my purse, fully charged with plenty of free space on my memory card, but I just never take pictures. I especially want to start taking pictures of things we do with family and time we spend with neices and nephews. We just spent an entire weekend with my sister-in-law Melissa and my neice Eden and I didn't take a single picture even though Eden was being all cute and funny.
So, starting now my goal is to take more pictures! :-)

Slacking...

So it's been almost a month since I've posted last. I haven't really been busy, just a slacker :-)
Aaron's been working hard to stay on top of his summer classes. He's reading a book a week for his English class on top of math homework. If you know Aaron you know that's probably more books than he's ever read in his life so I'm impressed he's resulted to reading Cliff Notes on only half of the books. haha. 3 books and 3 cliff notes is a pretty big accomplishment for him.
I'm 6 weeks into my externship at Good Sam in Dayton. I have two weeks left and I'm really going to miss it. I've learned sooo much. More than I could have learned in the classroom. And everything we've been learning up to this point is finally making sense and falling into place. This externship is really making me want to work with adults. I can totally see myself working in the hospital setting someday.
Our summer has been pretty good so far. We went camping for a weekend and took my cousin's two oldest kids. We went to the Strawberry Festival in Troy and I went to a Taylor Swift/Keith Urban concert with some of my friends. We don't really have too many things planned the rest of the summer... We're going to my cousin's wedding in Tennessee in a few weekends but other than that we're just going to hang out, work on our tans and trying to survive school. :-)

Honeymoon

Aaron and I had made reservations at an all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya. The night before our wedding, we were at our rehearsal dinner and Aaron gets a phone call from the company we booked through. The resort we were supposed to stay at ended up closing because they were only at 30% capacity and they wanted our permission to move us to its sister resort. The two resorts share the same pools, restaurants, beach and everything, so they were simply moving us from one side to the other.

Saturday after the wedding we headed to Indianapolis since that's where our flight was leaving from. We arrived at the hotel at about 12:30am and then had to get up at 4:15 to get the shuttle to the airport. Sooooo basically we just took a nap that night... and I was forced to do this in the airport waiting to board:

We arrived at our resort at about 1:00pm to find out we got a HUGE room upgrade. We were only supposed to have a room with a balcony or deck but we ended up getting a bigger room, jacuzzi tub and a terrace that walked RIGHT into the pool. It was pretty exciting. We spent the first afternoon exploring the resort and walking on the beach.

Monday was our first full day at the resort and we spent it laying out, eating and walking on the beach. Seriously, does it get any better than that?! Tuesday we decided to go see Chichen itza, the Mayan ruins. We were picked up in a van at 7:15 and driven to a big Greyhound (but nicer) type bus. The bus ride there was 3 hours and on our way we stopped at an underground, freshwater swimming hole. It was freezing and had catfish swimming in it but Aaron and I both got in for a little bit. After that we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant and then went on to Chichen itza. It was really cool and it is amazing think how much they did and knew without all of the technology that we have now. Wednesday was also spent being lazy and lounging around the pool. Thursday we went to Playa del Carmen for the day and went shopping. Friday was our last day and of course I had to spend it getting burnt so that I'd come home with some color! :-) We left really early Saturday morning (4:30) and got back into Dayton at about 6ish.

Our honeymoon was wonderful and it was so nice to spend a whole week with my husband just enjoying each other's company with nothing to worry about.

The Wedding

Like I said in my last post, the wedding was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

The day started off very early with hair appointments at 9:00. The girls and I had fun hanging out and laughing (and eating of course) at the salon.

After everyone's hair was done we headed over to the church to hang out for awhile. We ate lunch, had our makeup done and then finally got dressed. The ceremony started right on time and was perfect. Here are a few pictures friends took of the ceremony:

MARRIED!!

We made it! The wedding was absolutely perfect. A few little things went wrong (like Aaron leaving the ring at my parents until half hour before the ceremony) but everything got figured out and the day was perfect!
Sunday morning we left for Mexico and had an awesome time! The resort was nearly empty and the weather was beautiful.

One Week...

So apparently I'm really bad at this blogging thing... I never remember... so here's a quick update of everything that's happened

The girls at school threw me a Bachelorette party

We went to eat at Olive Garden (my FAVORITE!) and then we played some fun games

My aunt and cousin threw me a shower for my dad's side of the family

My friends at home had a Bachelorette party for me

(please notice a trend with the crown... I now have 3 of them because apparently people think I need to wear a pink fuzzy crown that lights up to announce my pre-marital status.. haha)

The market where Aaron worked last year has recently opened up for the year so Aaron's been putting in long hours there on the weekends.

Aaron and I had our last day of classes yesterday! After two finals next week I will officially have survived my first year of graduate school! Aaron has been having some issues with his credits from Sinclair transfering evenly since it is a quarter school and Miami is a semester school. We found out he may be here a little longer than expected but everyone in the business school has been awesome with helping him get done as soon as possible. Right now we're looking at him being done one semester after me, so he'll be done in December of 2010.

And the most exciting news of all.... WE'RE GETTING MARRIED ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! It still hasn't hit me, but I'm getting really excited!! I'm really excited to see all of my family and for all of Aaron's brothers to get into town! I've been checking the 10-day weather forcast multiple times a day (haha I know, I'm a loser) and it's been quite different everytime I check. It's ranged from 60% chance of rain to sunny and 73, which is what it says right now. Its still a week away though and I'm sure the forecast will change a dozen more times before then. I'm really not worried about it raining on the wedding day (that means good luck afterall) but I really hope that it stops for a least a little bit so that we can get some pictures outdoors because the country club where we're having the reception is BEAUTIFUL!

Everyone's been asking us if we're still going on our honeymoon since currently it's planned for Mexico and well, Mexico hasn't exactly been a wonderful place to travel recently. The company we used to book our trip is allowing people to move their trip to either another date or another location. Aaron and I have been talking about it and there hasn't been many (if any) outbreaks of swine flu in the Cancun region (which is where we'll be) and it seems to be a little less serious than what experts once thought, so we're still planning on going. The only thing that makes either of us nervous is the actual flight. Being that closely confined to people, especially on the way home, is a little scary but if there's someone on the plane who's sneezing and coughing we just won't breathe their air! haha.

29 Days!!

We're under a month now! Aaron and I are getting married 4 weeks from tomorrow! Oh how the time has flown! It really seems like we were just getting engaged. And since most of the planning was done over the summer I really haven't thought a whole lot about the time and now it's less than a month away! I don't think it has sunk in yet. It probably won't hit me until I'm walking down the isle and then I'm going to be a basket case! haha. Right now we're just finalizing all the plans and I've started working on the seating chart for the reception (so if you haven't RSVP-ed yet, please do so! :-) ). I'm getting excited and really hope that these next few weeks FLY by!
