So I realized that in all of my stress of the semester I completely forgot to write about something I'm really looking forward to..
On Jan. 2 Aaron and me and my family are leaving to go on a CRUISE! :-) We leave from Miami and will be cruising to Semana in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and our cruiseline's private island in the Bahamas.
When we first booked the cruise I was excited because I love cruises but now, I feel like I NEED this cruise. This semester has been insanely busy for me. I feel like I hardly have time to get my work done, let alone so it will be sooo nice to have an entire week where I don't have to even think about school and I can just relax and get my sanity back.
Ahhhhh 59 days and counting.... Can't come soon enough.

All Aboard...

I am not a fan of bandwagon jumpers. Now that the Bengals are 4-1 (and should be 5-0 if it weren't for a freak accident in the final seconds of their first game) I have noticed that some of those fair whether fans that only come around when we're doing halfway decent are starting to express their "love" for the Bengals. Don't get me wrong, its great to have a lot of supporters for your team, but there's a quote by Marilyn Monroe that says "...if you can't handle me at my worst you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." And I know that when Marilyn said that she clearly wasn't talking about football but I think it relates. It really annoys me when people who continually bash a team all of a sudden act like huge fans as soon as said team wins a few games in a row.
So, moral of the story, if you're going to be a fan, be a fan through the good and the bad so as not to anger us true fans.

Fall

Today is the last day of summer, and as much as I love summer... I'm glad its fall. Here's a few reasons fall is my favorite season...

First off, the colors are amazing.... I love the reds and oranges of the leaves and I LOVE crunching on the leaves after they've fallen off the tree. And the leaves just give off this wonderful, crisp smell. :-) I love it.
FOOTBALL!! Need I say more?

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love the food and the family and this year my birthday is on Thanksgiving... does it get any better than that?!

Cuddling (Aaron actually thought of this one) We try to wait as long as possible before we turn our heat on because it's SO expensive so, in Aaron's words "Its about that time that we have to cuddle to stay warm." And I'm a BIG fan of cuddling.

Fall TV shows start new seasons!!

I love when the weather outside gets a little chilly and I can wear jeans and a hoodie. In a perfect world, this would be my dress code of choice every single day.

And a special favorite for this year, its my last semester of classes!!! After December I will never have to take another college course! The whole spring semester will be spent student teaching in the schools. I'm so excited to have already completed my last first day of school and we're already 5 weeks into the semester.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!

It's that time of year... It is officially football season!!
For Aaron and me this is pretty much better than Christmas. It means that for the next few months every Saturday, from the noon kickoffs to the late into the night, will be spent in front of the TV (with plenty of catnaps for Aaron to get him through these strenuous days).
We were fortunate enough to get a second TV so that when Purdue and OSU play at the same time we are both able to have our own TV (which will prevent many fights).
Sooo... GO BUCKS and BOILER UP! :-) We're hoping for a national championship out of one of these teams!

What's in a Name...

Throughout our engagement I would joke that I was going to hypenate my name so that I could keep cool initials (CAT to CATS instead of CAS) and I said that Aaron was going to hypenate as well. There was never any doubt in my mind that I was going to take Aaron's last name and it wasn't a big deal to me. After we got back from our honeymoon and I started filling out all the paperwork and taking all the steps to get my name changed I started to get a little sad that I would no longer be "Carolyn Trick." Even though its been over 3 months and everything has officially been changed to Sebourn and I've be writing (and seeing) my name as Carolyn Sebourn sometimes it still takes me by surprise.

In more exciting news, we're heading up to Lake Erie this coming weekend with my family. Its the only time I have off between summer and fall classes start, so it'll be nice to just relax. We're going to go to Cedar point one day and maybe out to Kelly's Island. Hopefully I'll remember to take some pictures so I can post some when we get back.

Our crazy, almost ordinary life

So a lot has happened in the past month or so. Actually, now that I think about it, it's pretty much just been this past week and half.... Anyways, Aaron's parents decided to move to Oklahoma and had to be our of their house by the end of the month, so we spent pretty much all our free time in Huber helping them pack up the house and load the truck. I know the move is the best thing for all of them, but it makes me really sad that they're no longer only an hour away and we can't see them whenever we want and we're not going to get to see them every holiday now.
Aaron plans on an intermural softball team with some of our friends here at Miami and they had their last game on Monday night. This is the 3rd season they've played and in the past they haven't been super good, but they were undefeated 4-0 so far in this season. The game was intense and super close, and they actually shouldn't have won b/c the other team doesn't know how to count, but they walked away with a winning 5-0 record making them elligible for the playoffs Wednesday night. But before we get to that, our Monday evening got a little more exciting. After the game Aaron checked his phone and had a text message from his brother Noah saying that his wife's water broke (3 weeks early!!) and a few hours later we had a brand new baby niece, Ruth.

Tuesday I drove down to Kentucky to meet Ruth and pick up Aaron's dad who drove back to KY with Noah. We had their 2nd car and he was going to drive it back to OK. The weather was horrible on Tues and I was driving in the rain all day, but it was totally worth it because Ruth is so sweet. This was the first baby born as my actual niece or nephew. All of my other nieces and nephews were born before Aaron and I got married so that was exciting for me! I can't wait to watch Ruth grow up and see what an amazing person she will turn into.

Wednesday was the playoffs and the first team was slightly intimidating. They were super tough looking and even their girls were good! (That's how we judge the skill of other teams haha b/c usually the girls are not good at all.) We were actually losing the 1st and 2nd innings and then when we batted at the bottom of the 3rd we scored 13 runs!! It was crazy! So needless to say, we ended up run-ruling them and made it to the finals. The finals were immediately following the play-off game and again the team looked good. That was another close game and we were down 7-10 in the last inning, but we were at the top of our batting order. The first 3 people made it on base and then Aaron was up to bat and hit a homerun bringing everyone in and we won the game with a perfect season 7-0. It was very exciting, especially considering that in the seasons before they were nothing stellar.

Thursday I had a midterm and Aaron and a final and then Friday Aaron took off for Oklahoma to spend some time with his brothers and get some dental work done. Yes, our dentist lives 13 hours away. No big deal. haha.

Anyway, its lonely here without him but I have a lot of work I need to get done this week so I guess its good he's not here to distract me with his constant Halo playing. But I'm ready for him to come home now. (Hear that husband?! Come home. Now! :-) ) And our 3 month anniversary is today! woot woot! haha.
